Fulfilling our educational brief, we once again took the Somerset Cricket Museum out of the CACG today, this time to Ruishton, where we were warmly welcomed by the Taunton and District Friendship Club, at the Ruishton Village Hall.

The presentation by Patrick Draycott covered the history of SCCC.

Once again the Somerset Cricket Museum welcomed members of the Walkers and Talkers into the Museum. As a follow on from International Women’s Day, we talked about some lesser known but equally important stories related to the Somerset Women players &

So pleased that so many Walkers and Talkers visited the Somerset Cricket Museum this morning to be introduced to the Museum Trustees and listen to a short talk on the I Zingari display.

Delighted to welcome members of the Taunton Vale Rotary Club to the Somerset Cricket Museum this evening. The group spent about an hour in the Museum before moving on to Wildwood in the centre of town for dinner.

We discussed the history of the Museum and looked at the stories behind three bats.

Once again, we were pleased to welcome the Walkers and Talkers to the Somerset Cricket Museum along with their guest speaker Tim Munton.

Topic for today : Somerset County Cricket Club wicket keepers. Mike Unwin highlighted the records of 6 of our ‘keepers over the years.

Despite the rain, we were pleased to again welcome the Walkers and Talkers to the Somerset Cricket Museum this morning. David Wood, our curator, enthralled the visitors with one of his usual witty talks.

Also on display was our new Somerset Women display, which was enjoyed by the visitors.

Lovely to have a visit this morning from the Somerset Cricket Foundation/ Reminiscence Learning group to the Somerset Cricket Museum as part of their activities followed by table tennis, carpet Curling and activity based bingo in the Long Room.

We were delighted to welcome guests from the Devon and Somerset Law Society to the Museum recently, for a drinks reception ahead of their dinner in the Long Room. Also visiting us was the High Sheriff of Somerset, Robert Beckley QPM, who was their guest speaker for the evening.
