So in the past few days, the old man and current President: Declared the use of lethal "Full Force" in Portland - apparently based on TV news clips from 2020. Showed a fake video of himself touting the rollout of non-existent Med Beds.

Here's an excellent article on the true facts and numbers on the crime rate in Washington DC. And it reinforces that Trump's actions are purely an authoritarian power grab.

The overwhelming number of unintended consequences and retaliatory actions (unthought of by anyone in the executive branch) from Trump's tariffs are going to cripple America. Here is just one...
In April 2025, while most of the world was clutching pearls over trade war tit-for-tat tariffs, China calmly walked over to the supply chain and yanked out a handful of critical bolts. The bolts are made of dysprosium, terbium, tungsten, indium and yttrium

In response to new Trump tariffs, China cut dysprosium, terbium, and tungsten exports—hitting U.S. EVs, wind, and military systems hard.

I was thinking about Social Security - why isn't there more of a push to eliminate the taxable maximum amount of $176,100 (once an individual's wages go over that amount, they don't pay any additional amount to Social Security). Eliminating this cap could go a long way in solving our shortfall.

I am truly dismayed that it appears Hegseth will be confirmed. Putting aside his past behavior (which alone should probably be disqualifying), he is nowhere near qualified to be the head of our military. He was a major in the reserves. He will now have generals reporting to him?

Daily Outrage - every day Trump does something outrageous - today's example is Trump considering creating a Crypto Czar, while he himself is financially involved in several types of crypto. Financial conflict of interest anyone?

Question for you all... Especially if you have inside information on DC. What percent of Republican Members of Congress are dismayed/mortified that Trump will be President again, just won't say so publicly in words or by votes (versus those that truly believe he is great)?
