People who complain about finales probably didn’t live through the phenomenon known as LOST.

Anyway, that's my edited down to five posts answer. It may not surprise you to learn I was a visual arts guy and not an English major. Hopefully you're not deducting points for tardiness. 😅

...day of being bombarded with too much stimulation and information. It's comforting in a way. I appreciate it as a well executed show that forces me to pay closer attention. Shows with more verbose dialog often cause me to look at my phone because I know I can still absorb the plot while doing it.

Vibes - Its a vague and overused term, but think of it as the sum of all filmmaking and acting choices. When a show nails the vibes I tend to be all in. This one does that for me.

I could also go on about how those long sequences of Carol or Manousos laboring helps my mind wind down after a long

Craft - it looks gorgeous because they're actually location shooting instead of creating fake backgrounds in post. Camera angles and shot choices are thoughtful and deliberate which makes it more engaging for me even when dialog is light. It feels like the more classical filmmaking that I grew up on

...any use for, I love the wild hypotheticals it explores like Carol having The Joined re-stock an entire grocery store so she could feel the normalcy of shopping for the 3 or 4 items she cared about. While other shows feel like they're recycled from familiar concepts this one feels original to me.

Good question, Tom. I may not be able to articulate it in a way that feels truly satisfying but here goes...

Concept - Whether it's an alien invasion/battle for the future of humanity premise or it's about people having to grapple with the loss of the broader society they may not have felt they had

I’ve seen plenty of shows that people hail as brilliant that just don’t speak to me the same way. When I realize I’m not getting the same experience as others I move on to something else because there is just SO much content out there. Pluribus speaks to me so I’m sticking with it.

Yep. He found out that the both the Trump Administration and candidate Joe Biden were requesting that Twitter remove content that could affect the 2020 election and concluded that Biden (not in office) was engaging in government sponsored censorship… as any fair-minded person would. 🙄

I found Blake’s profile on LinkedIn. Not at all what I was expecting. 😮

Imagine that. “Radicalized” by reason, logic, and facts.

Lockjaw, the Burrowing Bishop, Eddie the Flying Gimp from Outer Space...such good memories there. Voltar was glimpse into our dystopian present.

I’ve definitely been that guy sweating under a suit jacket at an outdoor wedding in May as I sit behind an older adult guest wearing a polo shirt and a camo baseball cap thinking I wouldn’t trade places with him for anything. I want the couple to know I respect them enough to dress for their moment.

I’d bet the Hannity flyer is Michael Wolff. He told a story about being on Hannity’s private plane with a sloppy drunk Laura Ingraham in a recent Daily Beast pod. Already been back on justifying his Epstein coms. Having myself just watched Black Bird I guess he sees himself as Jimmy Keene here.

It was wet *and* dry from what I recall.

If you’ve watched the directors commentary of that movie then you know exactly what I mean when I say that the rumbling sound you hear is just a distant tympani.

I’ve been inspired now to break out my vinyl copy of The Way it Is. One of those rare examples where every track is just as good as the title track.

Perhaps the most exciting WS of all time and I say that as a fan of the losing side. #hrbekcheated

It all just makes me think of all of the Bloom County comic strips that I didn’t understand as a kid, but I still thought they were funny. I understand them better now.

I'm too distracted by that quintessential Florida-Karen haircut lurking behind him to fully express may lack of astonishment at this.

For his brilliant performance in the second Borat movie.

Chyron is to lower third graphics as Kleenex is to facial tissue, Band-aid is to adhesive bandages, Velcro is to hook-and-loop tape...not that anyone but me really cares. 😏
