I don’t have many friends here, but to make it official: Bluesky’s not doing it for me. Don’t mean to yuck anyone’s yum but I vastly prefer chatting with friends and/or folks that enjoy/find us on stream, and I already have Discord servers to enable that. Everything else leaves me a bit worn out.

Tried Valheim with friends last night… this will definitely end up on stream at some point. So sorry I didn’t get a recording of getting crushed to death by a tree that had already fallen and just happened to be slightly more elevated than my fragile Viking shins when I bumped into it.

Having it rough with an expert level trauma dumper lately. I have strong feelings about not turning my back on people that trust me, even strangers, but… I do have limits, my chat has limits, and so far the nice methods ain’t working. Had to get a little tough tonight and more may be on the way.

Turns out half my friends were HSR fans and we’d never talked about it. So half my life now is trying to advise new players to not oversimplify a game that thrives on adding complexity to the standard turn based battle system. I doubt I’ll succeed given most wanna rush through ASAP, but I’m trying.

Important life lesson: apparently “please leave the order at my door” translates into a LOT of different languages as “please send me 5 messages AND call me to be sure before you hit the designated “it’s here” button to officially tell me and leave the order at my door as I requested.”

I’m a huge sucker for game shows, even when they’re reruns from when/before I was born. Recently found Buzzr while surfing TV channels, which is an entire channel dedicated to archiving the ancient stuff. The sheer mindfuck of seeing Alex Trebek as a much younger man hosting a very different show.

Been taking some long-standing advice to try out YouTube Shorts to increase visibility for my channel. I know these vertical format videos aren't everyone's cup of tea, but please take a look if you'd like to see some of our favorite and silliest clips come to life in a new, more vibrant home.
Sigh. The sheer *frustration* of loving a game that’s been a 500% positive experience for me, done so many things right, nails the story and music, and has so much energy left to go… but all I hear is “lol pay to win” (it isn’t) and “gacha trash” (I’ve seen what I paid go into making a great game.)

I don’t think iPhones were designed with the idea of train transit in mind. If I have to tell this device that I’m not driving one more time, heads are gonna roll.

OK, so what have we learned: Raph is bad at doing vacation updates, especially when they’re short vacations. I guess there’s only so many ways you can say “lived in a hot tub, ate lots of tasty local food, slept in way too late, and saw a fantastic show” before it gets stale. 🤗

Taking my first major train trip in the US today as we journey back to OR, this time for Drum Tao! It’ll be 7 hours 😅 but hopefully the view will be nice and we’ll have lots of time to rest and relax.

I’m vocally against sweatiness, heat, and excessive sunshine… but I’m looking forward to the eventual day when the weather here might be sunny enough for spring cleaning *and* warm enough to open the windows while I do it.

Somehow managed to find myself in Duolingo’s Obsidian League, which is the penultimate leaderboard tier among the people sorted into my bracket. Been sitting at Pearl (the previous tier) for a while and I’m amazed at how competitive this one is by comparison. Gotta bust ass to even stay qualified.

Still recovering from that absolute ride of a concert last night. I’ve been to a Tiesto concert that had less energy than Sonic Symphony in Portland, no joke. It was so cool to be part of something so infectiously joyous and awesome. So glad we made it to this one!

Did some snooping around the sheets & blanket on this bed because I loved them back in September and nothing has changed. I have a gift for removing any jersey and/or silky top sheet on my bed while I sleep (blanket stays fine) and this is the only bed that doesn’t make me do it. (Links forthcoming)

Good aftermorning from the only penthouse suite at this lovely hotel. We splurged since this is a short stay & both of us *really* needed the hot tub. Lest you think too stuffily of us though, rest assured that we are about to gorge on local Southern breakfast food to balance the scales.

On the road to OR again for Sonic Symphony. Sadly no Surge at this particular Burger King stop so I’ll have to make do. Didn’t realize how good I had it on a previous journey.

So much exhaustion right now trying to keep up with everything I’ve taken on. Between all the new game learning, the unexpected brutality of Corpse Party, and how much Ladykiller challenges me to perform, plus the usual need to try to be engaging, I’m really glad I have a break coming this week.

Picked up the Wheel of Fortune mobile game bc I still love Wheel even if it’s grossly nationalist these days on TV. The app is thirsty AF for my wallet and I have no intention of paying for anything ever.
