(the vibe was very angry from then-on, though, especially after Korthia landed. Folks lightened up a little with Zereth Mortis at least, but the stew was well-poisoned by then, and then-current anger *retroactively* tarnished the early game and people just... forgot that early positivity)

People immediately disliked the Maw, and became critical of Torghast pretty fast. The Covenant abilities were controversial - but with many of the characters, the setting, I saw people generally *enthusiastic* for months! People LOVED Nathria.
Folks seem to forget all this.

In spite of what some will say negatively - I think they forget that people were actually *generally* quite positive with the expansion for the first bunch of months. Aside from a few things, people didn't really majorly sour till a little before Korthia launched.

Go-to example I always think of is how half the letters in "laughter" get pronounced very, arbitrarily, differently if you just put an S in front of the word.

The game (and much of the fanbase) has been *so obsessed* with the WC3 characters to the exclusion of so much else for such a long time - so many other good characters! - and it's kinda wild to me.

*Altogether*, I've never not enjoyed a WoW xpac. Some I like more than others, but I've never disliked one.
Favourite xpac overall was Legion - favourite *patch* was Visions of N'zoth (boy I loved that patch so much).

The other thing I was wondering is whether this reflects the attitude in USA properly. If this is a real trend, I certainly HOPE it says something about an American shift - but Twitter is global. It's a bit less encouraging if it turns out 60 percent of anti-maga likes are from Canada or such.

I was wondering about this - and hoping I wasn't just imagining it. It certainly seems like anti-maga posts tend to get more likes, especially from the normie accounts I've never heard of (though the maga still can get a lot of likes).
