All filled in. Now for the hours of looking at it and tweaking it and my husband saying “I thought you finished that one” 100 times.
It’s not finished until I varnish it. 😝

It was one of my first oil paintings… I had no clue how to use the material properly. But I’ve always loved painting nature. And it’s the same size I’m working now… 15 years later. Full circle 😆

Once upon a time I made a whole series of sea creatures… the materials involved chalk pastels, baking soda, vinegar and charcoal. Every experimental and made for some fun prints… the originals are a nightmare.

So I got my autism evaluation results today.
I’m autistic.
I’m glad I got this answer for myself. After ten years of actively trying to improve my mental health… researching, attending therapy (over and over), so many meds, hospital stays…
I feel like I’m finally able to just exist.

Left side of the spider lily is almost done.
These bloomed in our yard last year. However, the kids dug up the bulbs in spring not realizing what they were… so we had none this year.
They apparently symbolize death… but also rebirth. They felt like a warning and encouragement all at once.
