New business idea: you pay me a subscription fee to pay your property taxes every year. The yearly fee will be more than what you owe the government but you'll feel a lot better paying for a service instead of paying a tax.

Maybe people wouldn't get so mad at health insurance companies if we accurately described how they work. Paying premiums doesn't buy you care, it buys you the opportunity to pay an unknown amount for care in the future. Hmm ok that may make people more mad actually
