4/4 I have hope that a remake of 1 is a statement of intent from Crystal Dynamics to return to these roots for Catalyst. At the very least, it looks like they've nailed Lara's design and movement. That handstand mantle is as 🤌🏻 as it ever was.

3/4 The rebooted trilogy was fun in the way Uncharted is fun, but it pushed what made the series special, the tombs, to the sidelines somewhat. Tomb Raider is at its best when every level is a big, daunting puzzle box.

2/4 Played through Tomb Raider 2 recently and it genuinely still holds up. The game is designed in a way that rewards precision and creativity, and guidance is given through visual cues rather than hand holding. As a result, every jump you make and puzzle solved feels self-directed and satisfying.
