Listening to the anthem yesterday, I had to reflect on its meaning. Does the banner "yet wave o'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?" Seems to me that a lot of people here are not free. As for bravery, how many are standing up to the biggest bully in our history? Precious few.

I think we should call it the Gulf of Distraction.

I am seldom envious of other people because my life has been pretty good. But I envy the celebrities who get detailed family histories, albums, and charts on "Finding Your Roots" on PBS. Dr. Gates, if you ever decide to do a chart on Joe Blow, as Crash called him, I'm your man.
