Live from the SSU legislative hearings. Someone thinks we don’t care. We care. It’s Standing Room Only.

When your University President quits and three years later CSU still hasn’t begun to search for a permanent replacement.

This strikes me as almost defiant, as in "That's fine if you wait until after May 1st to clear out your office." But I don't know what they think is going to change on May 1st. I don't see how doing everything exactly the same complies with the restraining order.

SSU President search re-opened, but without any explanation as to why it was closed in the first place, nor an apology for that. This is from the legislative hearings on the future of #SonomaState, held February 21, 2025. The congressman who has represented this campus "forever" understands #SSU better than the CSU system itself does. The rot at the CSU system goes all the way to the top, and the legislature must intervene.

SSU's recovery plan must focus on (1) messaging the campus's unique facility, (2) delivering a unique liberal arts leadership development experience, and (3) removing barriers to entry below, especially the 6-unit cliff that makes it expensive to go part time. #SSU should be the pilot for a change.

Congress member Mike Thompson is a CSU graduate, and his wife has a degree from #SSU. He knows what Chancellor Garcia does not know, which is the importance of this campus to everyone.
