Whereas Zech's has his mask break, and he just says into the camera: "I am Milliardo Peacecraft again." A simpler application of Char's internal character struggle is not inherently bad, but this application in particular is bad.

Also this detracts from giving Wing a unique identity.

Did Wing's writers think that Char's mask was actually hiding Casval Rem Deikun under there? And that Char Aznable wasn't a labyrinthine house of mirrors that housed myriad identities, including his so-called original one? Char Aznable, Quattro Bajeena, Casval Rem Deikun, are all facades.

It is a pretty lame pastiche thus far of everything from the UC Timeline. It has the poor man's Char Aznable, with the same overtime symbolism, with the most basic rudimentary understanding of Char's interiority as a character and the symbolism that accompanied him.

Gundam has always had this issue of treating individual reasons for fighting as agnostic to conflict. "The side you fight on is immaterial to your own reasons" has always been some bullshit that the series gets on.

But somehow Wing made it worse, even with almost a decade of hindsight.

To be clear: War is a massive failing of human beings as a collective. But where Gundam 0079 takes some interest in what motivates a faction to war, Wing's interpretation of this is treating fighting, and by extension war, as a consequence of personal beliefs about war.

There are some gamers out there that'll look at a hammer, pick it up, smash themselves in the crotch with it a dozen times and then declare the hammer a source of nothing but misery.

Bafflingly, they will consider this the correct usage and chastise anyone using it normally and tell them to Git Gud

Romani coming back on the second day in such a despondent state, should you fail to stop the ghosts, is such a gut punch.

Before Larian, it was CD Projekt Red. The "good one" pedestal is often occupied, but we should always resist the part of us that wants to put something there.

Kill the part of you that is looking for some kind of triple-A savior. I was very fond of BG3, but I remember feeling uncomfortable with the cloying praise as everyone hoisted Larian onto that "good one" pedestal, feeling like "yeah. It's going to be very cool when they fall off that."

I know everyone clowns on Elon for his gross pandering to le epic redditors - which they should- but it is worth noting that this sort of thing apparently fucking works. The serfs will die for their lord if he likes the same video games and anime, even if they are lying.

I'm not prone to "everybody but me is an idiot" type shit, but it makes complete sense that the ultra wealthy have such an iron grip on the balls of this world, because many folks will fight their own class interests if your overlords are "relatable". There is no billionaire you should relate to!
