The crew is ready for operations, but we will not forget the last rescue. Our thoughts are with the two deceased, who could not be saved despite lengthy resuscitation attempts. And with the missing people who went overboard during the crossing on the rubber boat, and with all their relatives. 3/4

Time to begin processing what had happened. And time to prepare, because it was immediately clear to our crew that they had to get back to work as soon as possible.

Since this afternoon, our ship is heading back to the Central Mediterranean, where all rescue capacities are crucially needed. 2/4

Intense and emotional days lie behind the crew of our rescue ship Humanity 1. After Friday’s critical rescue and the disembarkation of 34 survivors and 2 bodies on Sunday, our rescue ship remained in the port of Porto Empedocle for two days. Time to rest after 48 hours of continuous operation. 1/4

Die Crew ist bereit für den Einsatz, und dennoch vergessen wir die letzte Rettung nicht. In Gedanken sind wir bei den beiden Verstorbenen, bei den Vermissten, die während der Flucht auf dem Schlauchboot über Bord gingen, und bei all ihren Angehörigen. 3/4

Anfangen, das Geschehene zu verarbeiten. Und vorbereiten, denn für unsere Crew war sofort klar: Sie müssen schnellstmöglich zurück in den Einsatz.

Heute Nachmittag hieß es: „Leinen los!“ Es geht zurück ins zentrale Mittelmeer, wo alle Rettungskapazitäten gebraucht werden. 2/4

After being rescued in severe weather, five people were evacuated yesterday due to their critical condition, and two people died despite tireless emergency medical measures on board. Those rescued reported that seven other people had drowned before the rescue. 2/3
