I have my browser set to dark mode, so why does it open new tabs in white and then, after I’m blinded, set them to dark?

In an article in our local paper today the interviewee mentioned the yellow pages and the reporter took a few sentences to explain what they were to the reader.
I think most people who read newspaper are old enough to know what yellow pages are, maybe not.

I’ve been watching wood boat building videos/series and a lot of time is spent on the interior varnishing the woodwork. I can’t help but wonder if for those spaces like the engine room if you could use a technique like Yakisugi to preserve and protect the wood instead. Paint it if needed.

Watching the Bears vs Vikings and on the 4th down attempts, how does the Chicago runner always manage to find the place where all of the defenders are? It’s not the Bears play, let Detroit and Philly have it.

I’ve noticed that the photos I see on the news and in print are older and give a false impression about the age of the person. I saw this a lot in the recent election cycle where Biden had a more current photo but the one for Trump was years old. Maybe no more than a year old would be good.

One of my favorite sayings is “perfect is the enemy of good.” Not that I like slipshod (looks away from latest project) but perfect can be unattainable and good is what you need.

Went for a nice 5k walk today. Some hills and cornfields were a nice change. A good chat with my sons was also nice.

I was OK with seeing a light dusting of snow on the roof today, I’m not as OK when it was a windy winters mix until lunch. Hopefully it’ll melt off.

Watching Always Sunny on Hulu and I’ve found that I like the commercial breaks. 3 min would be annoying but 80-90 seconds is about right.

I ride Chicagos rental bike, #divvybikes, and almost went 3 for 3 today. I had someone make a left against their red left turn arrow and then watched a dude motor through a clearly red signal while he was staring at his phone. There was an open spot at my preferred docking station which was nice.
