So I ultimately ended up blocking this account because that post really bothered me

It is just insensitive and ick to me

Being curious enough is not gonna just magically make my brain or other autistic people understand social cues

I am seeing a lot of people upset at autistic pages for posting about politics and I'm just... like, our very existence IS political

If you can't accept that, well, that's not our problem and you clearly have a lot to learn

Yesterday I opened my Instagram account to this message from my mom regarding the vaccines causing autism bs and I'm just 🙃
An Instagram message that says "I know you don't believe this, and neither did I for a long time... especially when I was vaccinating kids every day, but just listen. If you look into it, the statistics are astounding. RFK has nothing to gain by fighting this fight, and I'm really starting to believe him. (Puts on her tin foil hat and walks away.) My responses to this message: "Just seeing this message.... I have nothing to say to that." The second message I send directly below it: The only thing I do have to say is y'all need to stop trying to convince me to "come to your side." It is NEVER going to happen."

Bluesky account called Reagan Conservative says: "Vaccines don't cause autism. But what can? Maternal diabetes and obesity. Guess what's up a ton in the last 50 years? Diabetes and obesity. So why don't we focus addressing that as a causative factor in the increase of autism and not something scientifically proven not to like vaccined?" A second picture with me, soulfully neurodivergent, with two comments in reply. The first comment: "So you're saying that maternal diabetes and obesity can lead to autism..?" Second comment: "Would love to see the actual research and evidence for that other than quote "obesity and diabetes have increased in the last 50 years just like autism so that just mean they cause autism " unquote

Such an amazing book that was so relatable.

I would highly recommend it to anyone, whether you're autistic and wanting to find solidarity through lived experience or whether you want to understand more about autism.

I cried several times because I felt so seen.
