I used to be (and still am) really annoying about GoG's reaction to Devotion.
But it's been 5 years and i think i feel a bit better now with diversifying where i'm buying my games in the future. Especially since they seem to be doing a great job with their whole game preservation initiative.

What definitely will stick most with me is the reactions of different storefronts. Steam & Epic pulling the game from their stores is bad, no matter if you find the game important, bad, tasteless or tone deaf.
There is no justification for this decision and it's, as many already said, bad for art.

The message of the game is very clear and while it, obviously, is playing with some fetish imagery, it's really not a "fetish game". Same as Silent Hill, Outlast etc. are not fetish games, but use some fetish imagery.

Yeah, pretty much the same.

I knew wrestling through my brother, who had some tapes of matches with British Bulldog (he was a huge fan of him), Shawn Michaels etc. All late 80s, early 90s stuff.

And when i saw the Hardys for the first time as part of The Brood, that was a huge thing for me.

Oh, i also prefer a wrestler being smashed by something big and starting bleeding from that.

Not a fan of using pizza cutters and other utensils to do that weird spot where they show the audience the process of cutting open that particular part beneath the hairline.

As someone who grew up with the Attitude Era, i basically watched all of it again a few years ago. Jfc it was trash most of the time...

Of course it had it's highlights. I was a huge Hardy Boyz fan, i liked Austin, Mankind etc. But most of it was so fucking bad.

I personally mostly enjoy blood as a kind of "shock moment". And for that to work it needs to be rather rare.
(i just noticed someone brought that already up...)

Of course there are also match types that need blood, like No Holds Barred matches. These matches without blood are kind of pointless...

i actually do remember that terrifying me as a kid in some moments.

The way how they kept standing up again and kept going after all that violence.

I think even Kevin sold that pretty well, as far as i can remember. sometimes first celebrating and then noticing that they got up again.

I think i saw that when i was looking for a FF7 playthrough a while ago and i ended up watching a bit of Maximilian Dood's playthrough, where he used that mod (or a similar one).
It looked ridiculous.

And i'm saying that as someone who preferred the FF8 character models to FF7.
