Definitely agree that the number of applications has risen a lot! But the data suggests that postings in Europe have also fallen. (I worried that some of the fall in int'l JOE listings was because of European schools transitioning to other platforms, but EJM data shows falling openings too.)

Not something I had time to investigate properly 😔 but I would say that
1 - these markets are pretty international, and the European market is bad too.
2. I heard nothing to suggest that UK universities were hoovering up all the excellent candidates who were struggling to find a US posting.
