Stately, plump, Mrs. Dalloway...
The Scopuli had been taken eight days ago, and Mrs Dalloway was ready to be shot.
It was a bright, cold day in April, and the clocks were striking Mrs Dalloway

one of my favorite things about never having any idea what is going on with anything is that nothing's stopping me from spending tomorrow entertaining the thought "honestly why not just say that rocks are alive".

aeneid stands out from the start as being so front-facingly singular in contrast to to homeric aggolmeration of spoken stories. This is a specific & written narrative meant to ground roman imperium and it shows.

(virgil is also one heck of a writer, especially of tragedy & intensity)

I'm not sure there's a novel out there tempting my "please for the love of all that is wholly read something not written in the 20th century" goal for this year more so that vol III and now I am all the more prickled towards breaching my commitments!
Two volumes into Weiss’ Resistance trilogy, and looking at Vol III on my desk I’m starting to feel something not unlike the dread I felt when approaching “the part about the crimes”

all of a sudden both Joanna Newsom' Divers and the Eggers' The Lighthouse make sense to me and this is entirely thanks to reading Moby-Dick at the end of 2024. I too now feel the call of the sea.

Midway through faust pt2, alchemical boogaloo, i have no idea what's going on, where faust went, or why it seems that geothe got bored and decided to instead figure out the proper synthesis of reason, myth, and weird christian esotericism, but I dig it

Writing, it's so fun, and it's driving me up a wall. I'm fighting my brain for invisible pictures and I can't find them.
