Last week at the Alamance County Democratic Party meeting this event was discussed and the enthusiasm was so strong they would have been out there in a blizzard. Really proud of the community I live in.
Today in Burlington, NC.
Even with ~35mph wind gusts & some sleet, red-ish Alamance County (where the county jail is an official ICE detention facility thanks to Arpaio-wannabe Sheriff Terry Johnson) held one of its more impressive actions in some time.
Folks showed up early & stayed late!

Attended my first official meeting of the @alamancedems.bsky.social last night. I wore a name tag, raised my hand during precinct roll call, made my first ever speech as a political candidate, listened to my fellow candidates speak and I was blown away with the energy and power in the room.

This is a great explainer regarding the story of voter registrations that every single news org put on their front page this week in NC.
I was hit with the exact same overwhelming feeling of sadness as I get ready to wait for my kids to get off the bus and then go pick up our older kids. I can't imagine having to do that after your partner was murdered in front of you.
Lots of things to be despondent about but for me the idea of that women still having to do school pick-up absolutely wrecked me.

The energy and fight that Anderson has shown as state party chair is infectious and has inspired lots of people including myself to run for office. Can’t think of a better reason to donate.
