At least with Tales they’re starting to remaster the games for modern consoles … even if it’s just PS3/PS4 era games. (Given recent announcements I’m not holding my breath for anything from PSP/DS/PS2 era or earlier)

This. I have a friend whose daughter is getting into Gundam (via 0079 no less) and half the problem is figuring out where to go for each series so they can watch together. Having all the series in 1 place would be really helpful.

(Her favorites are Bright, Mirai, and Sayla for the curious 😂)

cartridge to make it work, but they did.

Basically, there’s 2 things that were signatures of Tales since its inception: the LMBS battle system, and the J-Pop opening song, complete with lyrics and instrumentals.

remember how much we celebrated when we saw we were getting the full song, lyrics and all, again for the original release. It would be a massive back step (and not in a good way!) for the franchise if we didn’t this time, especially since we got the full songs for Vesperia DE, Graces R, and Xillia R

Vesperia and Graces had English language versions of their OP, Abyss and Zestiria had instrumental versions of their OP, and Symphonia and Hearts R had completely new instrumental tracks composed by Sakuraba. This is why it’s important (to me) that they kept it for Berseria’s remaster, because I

Berseria is one of the few Tales games that kept the full song for the initial global release (iirc the other ones that did were X1 and X2) so them keeping it for the remaster for the global release is a big deal. It was never in any doubt the Japanese remaster release was keeping Burn as the OP.

Like I said in the original I hope it’s YT copyright issues and not the physical release. But I’ll believe it when Bamco NA YT posts it because even as recently as Zestiria (2015) we were getting instrumental versions of the Tales OPs and not the full song with the lyrics.

think anyone would've cared if they'd waited until next year to announce another Tales remaster 😜

Now if they'd said "Zesty remaster and we fixed the damned battle camera" I would've smashed that preorder button *so* fast but as it is ... pass.

It feels weird to drop Bersie so soon (even if it's probably one of the easier ones for them to remaster) like I dunno, they could coast on X1 for a *little* longer if it means they can do X2 next? Besides, we're used to getting ignored by TomiP until he remembers he's got a job to do so I don't

Times like this make me wish EN Bushi was better about translating the lore … 😰

Can't wait to get further in the game when the enemies get harder and the rest of the mechanics unlock, then I'll see how manageable this playthrough will be. In the meantime, I'm just super happy I get to play Xillia like I've always wanted - Japanese audio, English subs, and on better hardware

I can't tell if it's because I'd been playing Graces R so my reflexes aren't that rusty, but after I wiped on the first fight adjusting to early game Jude (as opposed to late game I AM SPEED Jude) I haven't had any problems since. Snap Pivot is absolutely busted as it always has been.
