I appreciate your polite response. I've seen this "just asking questions" critique and it's hard to know what to say to that...I've always seen open dialogue and questioning as fundamental to critical thinking. But I guess even questioning is (or can be) political nowadays...

I read plenty. Sorry I'm not a scholar on every possible topic under the sun. Show me an exhaustive study on the topic and I'll bet I can find you one - and a good quality one at that - that presents opposite findings.

They are. The man/woman binary is so deeply embedded in our culture, it’s practically hardwired into our brains. This divide is stitched into our traditions, language, & societal expectations, shaping how we view gender roles and identities. To suggest otherwise is just silly.

I sincerely am coming at the topic as someone who's read arguments on both sides of the issue and was (naively, I suppose) thinking I could learn something here.

Finally, a reasonable comment. I completely get that the right could give a fuck about women's sports, and their push to exclude transwomen from sports doesn't reflect a true concern for fairness in sports, but rather, a whole other agenda...

What a completely irritating response. I actually bother looking up articles, and reading the best arguments I can on each side of the issue. I'm completely not disingenuous and am trying to be fair minded, but whatever, on social media you have to pick sides and that's all that counts.

I don't think there's anything complicated about using the term transwoman. The prefix "trans" distinguishes transwomen from women, while at the same time being a respectful term. Calling a transwoman a man is not, whatever your position is on trans in sports, etc.
