Worm mode is obtained by any reasonably fluffy dog when they suck all of their limbs under them into their fluff and appear only as a head and tube of fur. Aussies are CHAMPIONS at worm mode. No dog breed can worm better than an aussie [it's the lack of a tail that sells it]

here's a decade+ of the theme that I put into a big ol' collage.

A lovingly rendered painting of my character Ezrael sinking into a sea/galaxy qith massive black jaws threatening to swallow her. Hand painted bubbles float around her form and she has an expression of pain on her face. The jaws belong to her past life-self, also named Ezrael—a massive mistavian dragon who embraced her darker qualities, relishing in the chaos and carnage she caused while the modern day specimen does what's necessary but it's always at a price to herself. This is the latest in a long, LONG series of paintings with this theme I come back to repeatedly. Like my 2020 version, this one is meant to be accompanied by the song 'Diving Bell' by Starset. A song which, like the art, is about someone who wants help being pulled out of the darkness, yet is at home with their pain and finds a melancholic contentment in the misery, a sort of equilibrium between despair and hope. Never progressing, just constantly being pulled one way or the other. In the contect of my universes' lore, Ezrael is the savior of her entire planet. No one would be alive today if not for her, yet she is deeply ashamed in herself for not saving even more when she had the chance, and instead of relishing in the small victories, she despairs at the catastrophic losses, seeing her entire life as a failure because in her own eyes, nothing short of saving billions of lives would matter. She's a post-war survivor with extreme ptsd and internalizes this pain, choosing only to lash outward in extreme circumstances. Most of her anger is in fact, reflected inward which is in extreme conflict to her past self who once again, enjoyed causing suffering and carnage.

What a difference time makes

a crop of a painting I did in 2020 after catching my ex cheating on me for the final time. The pain was pretty severe and I felt like I was drowning in sorrow. scene depicts my character Rika slightly under the surface of the water, hugging herself while staring up at the light. It's a two-part image meant to represent drowning in pain but being held in safety by the ocean as the ocean has always been my home and the ultimate form of security in my eyes. A crop of a scene painted in 2025 october of my character Ezrael in a similar positions to the 2020 version but with better expression in both the way she tightly grasps herself and the grimace of pain. Like the other image, it's a multiple-meaning scene with the ocean being safety, yet also an ocean of stars and the infinite expanse between them. She's in pain, and alone in her pain much like how the stars are so distant from one another. Yet the cradle of the ocean is comforting and familiar, yet it's all bittersweet. This version of the painting also features a set of massive black jaws at the bottom of the full scene [cropped out] which are meant to be a reminder of the pain caused by living in the past and how if you aren't careful, the past can swallow you.
