Nope. But we should not accept physical attacks from the homeless as well. We have had way too many random assaults and killings by drug or mentally disordered homeless to just go around clutching strands of pearls and saying we should take one for the team.

It goes way beyond the specifics of the crime to all sort of social projection. It’s basic. A drug addicted homeless man without care started scaring the shit out of ordinary people who had no defense. Not race, not societal evil, a guy trying to help scared people. We need more of that.

I live in the LA area. My wife doesn’t ride public transport any more after an obviously drug addicted homeless guy made a grab at her when I was right behind her as we got off a train. It’s kinda personal. Nobody does anything except complain. Local “camps” are like garbage dumps.

I had a discussion about a site cleanup one time locally with an online group complaining about a site that needed cleaning and not one of them had showed up for the cleanup we did. Lot of talk and second guessing. Penney made a mistake but he and the other two did something

I honestly wonder how many of the justice warriors on this post have actually done anything to help mentally ill homeless people other than write on the internet and accuse others of bias in the face of physical threats.
