So it saved literally thousands upon thousands of lives. That got ingrained culturally. Much like PB&J for kids, cheap and plentiful, enough calories to survive.

Oh sure, I just attempted suicide multiple times over years because I was "a little sad for a few minutes". I dropped out of uni, ruining my chances of my dream career, because I was "a little sad", not because my life was blowing up around me, being raped by my ex nightly, wishing I was dead. SURE.
