Could not agree more....and it's not just ND kids that suffer....it's any kid that has a talent for something that isn't valued by the narrow set of indicators that the schools/businesses are monitored on. It is immensely damaging for our children and could in itself be causing mental health issues.

I think it's because there was so much hope and optimism for their government after the disaster of the Tories and they have completely and utterly blown it. I can't forgive them for their lack of vision and planning. They have been such a disappointment and I feel so angry with them about it.

Fantastic article. This is absolutely the message we need to be giving teenage boys. Part of the issue is our school system is not set up to help young people find out what they are good at....so it is not surprising that many have no self esteem. Competence is indeed a very attractive quality.
