3% of lander votes going to cuomo vs 4% to zohran?

i mean, i am not in charge of zohran's campaign so i cannot personally speak for him. but imo it's much easier to sell people on the idea of free buses versus something like expanding the subway.

i see free buses as a starting point, not the end goal. i'll just quote from your own post - people can imagine not paying for the bus! maybe you think it's stupid, but politics is *about* imagination and to a lot of people it's a powerful re-imagining of what the government can be or accomplish.

I'm trying to engage in good faith: I don't see how that's an relevant comparison? why does the entire MTA operating budget matter? the MTA revenue from buses was $620M in 2023, the Parks Department budget in 2025 was $618M.

not in nyc! and nobody is making the case that we should!
June 12, 2025 at 3:58 PM
isn't that just an argument for running more buses though? my point is that we clearly see parks as a public good that we are happy to invest tax dollars in. why not the same for buses?
June 12, 2025 at 3:54 PM
what's the difference between buses and say, public parks? why are buses seen as *needing* dedicated streams of revenue, but not parks? i understand the fear around this, but isn't there something to be said about the shifting of the public mindset about what is or isn't a public good?

what in the world is she doing?

Politico has been riding hard against Zohran for a while now

oh right - i got it confused with mitchell's. that's unfortunate, i didn't know cheryl's was also anti-redesign.

ah, i thought you meant a restaurant on underhill. FWIW i think all the restaurants on the street are in favor of the redesign!
