its not the most rigid thing in the world. but if you're handy with a welder im sure you could just weld the thing together instead of using bolts

i used a single sheet of plywood, and then also bolted the folding part to the rear axle mount. i dont have great pics of it on hand.

normally its just an upsidedown bolt, but it creates an uneven lip. or the person that put mine together did it wrong, i bought it used

they do make a 5x8 now
