No I'm pretty sure it's "Looking Back on the Spanish War", a great essay

I feel like social networks are a better explanation than ideology. Most of these people know many who are pro-israel and so to internalize the situations stark reality would require recognizing at least the tolerance of evil within those connections/friends

Probably the structural/organizational side and it's interaction with political power most but I'm pretty interested in all of it

If you had to pick 1-2 to recommend which would they be?

My point is that all of those things are unpopular! That doesn't necessarily mean we can stop them but it does mean the public is on our side not theirs, particularly if we can highlight the cruelty of it

I'm doing this for some research project rn. but the vast majority of students aren't using LLMs as a carefully designed research method, they're using it to write papers faster

To me the strength of the Thucydides as a guiding ancient text is that as a multi-perspective "history" it should demand nuance and resist solely being read as broad strategic claims. Unfortunately we decided to turn it into a couple of broad strategic claims anyways

You could maybe consider these policies a type of moderation insofar as they try to meet 2016 trumps populist demands (and many received bipartisan support), but they are certainly not "Reaganist"

The problem is:
1) many of the benefits of funding have not yet materialized bc projects take time
2) many WWC voters clearly place cultural concerns over materialistic ones (just look at the union whose pension was saved by Biden but still refused to endorse Harris)
November 18, 2024 at 8:59 PM
I think this is wrong, at least where actual policy is concerned. The Biden admin sought to directly depart from "neo-liberalism" through industrial policy (and continued tarrifs) aimed directly at the "working class" that democrats have been losing.
