The government included two exhibits with their filing, which have been filed under seal. One of the exhibits, which NBC News has reviewed, is a 2015 report from the Windsor Police Department in Vermont, where a gun shop owner told officers that Mahdawi "supposedly told" the owner that he used to build machine guns "to kill Jews while he was in Palestine." In his declaration, Mahdawi said that he recalled visiting a gun shop in Windsor, Vermont, but that he is "absolutely certain that I never expressed the words the report falsely attributes to me, in that exchange or ever."

The hard truth, as I’ve said before and will say again, is that consuming information is not resistance. Posting is not resistance. Some good can come from spreading information, but it’s not the resistance we desperately need. The hard truth is that the house always wins. The game is rigged in Vegas, and it’s rigged on Instagram — we can’t beat back this fascist onslaught on their turf. Algorithms across platforms are controlled by billionaires, and if we focus our energy too heavily on social media we risk becoming controlled opposition. We risk venting and feeling like we’re fighting the forces of evil on our phones and computers and maybe even getting some catharsis out of it, all while changing little or nothing.

I've been thinking a lot about this, and how the old Dems refuse to acknowledge that this is a new era & that the rest of us are in the struggle together. These back to back make me think I'm a Solidarity Democrat, and I need to look for other Solidarity Dems who have my back and aren't sellouts
And there are I suppose two ways Democratic Party could reconstitute: we could take it over, or else we could start something new. I am more inclined to the former (because that's how white supremacist christians got their overt white supremacist Republican party) but I don't really care to argue with those who prefer the latter. There are people within the Democratic Party with fight still in them. There are those outside the party who organize and fight. Perhaps (it seems unlikely, but perhaps) there might even be a stray Republican who finds their soul and conscience, even at this late date. What's needed are leaders, and I'm not sure we can be picky about where they come from. Let's take them all and sort it out as we go. What I want to think about is what sort of leader we need. Leaders of Solidarity Solidarity is first and foremost. If a leader is going to sell one group out because it's popular, they'll sell you out when it becomes popular. So a leader who talks of selling somebody out for realism or strategy can and should be known as a sellout.
