The first time I played through the game I got to that scene and recognized the themes and immediately had to take a second because I started crying 10/10 game

Specifically while the B part of Stella’s theme is the one they play in unison together, the secondary section of Tabby’s theme starts and ends the song without being responded to and it’s so fitting! While they’re each lonely, only Stella’s is addressed in that scene, what isolates Tabby remains

It sounds so much like a dialog between these two characters, where they start out talking past one another & each playing their own themes, and end up playing the secondary section of Stella’s theme together in unison as they reunite 😭 the loneliness isn’t fixed but it’s finally seen

From what I hear the venue had a strict curfew so they had a shortened set list, so we might not know the full Bloodless tour set list until tonight

Cannot recommend a second run enough btw there’s SO much variability and the game is insanely responsive to your choices. Plus as someone who also started with Mystical, other runs can have such a different tone when you’re not zoned-in to the horror of it in character

Thank you for the live blog!! I’ve been following since I love seeing StP fans fall in love with Scarlet Hollow 👀 (and you also picked the exact combo of traits I did on my first run)

I tend to avoid Amazon anyway, but I also get annoyed by the wave of "you have to boycott" posts that come out every time a union announces a strike. Do your own research and listen to the workers themselves.

And then game very much lets you do that at every turn! There's very little assuming your intentions, and the creators have an uncanny knack for crafting dialogue options that make you go "hey wait that's what I literally just said out loud in response to this"

Also small no-spoilers appreciation of how real this game plays: some of the cruelest things you can say or do to characters are only possible if you've built up an otherwise good relationship with them. An "all mean" run is never actually as mean as stabbing someone in the back after they trust you

Fun fact this article is what actually made me first pick up the demo of Scarlet Hollow, a friend of mine from some interactive fiction spaces shared it and I thought it sounded fascinating! Now it's one of my favorite games 💜
