We reach the final Deluxe Insecticon this #TransformersTuesday with Venom! This is the most recent addition to my CHUG collection, as up until a few weeks ago I had no representation of the character at all. Fortunately, this was definitely worth the wait and purchase price

We’ve got another 3P figure this #TransformersTuesday: Fansproject Causality Plunder…better known as Ransack! I snagged this figure before Hasbro even hinted that updated Deluxe Insecticons might be a thing, and while it has the usual 3P fiddliness it looks great with the others.

An unexpected addition to my collection this #TransformersTuesday. Chop Shop was the only Deluxe Insecticon I had as a kid, and was still in good enough shape to represent the character in my collection. But when this figure was released in a 2-pack with Barrage, it seemed like a good time to update

On to the first of the Deluxe Insecticons this #TransformersTuesday with Barrage! I never expected to see an official release of the character, so for the longest time he was represented by Energon Insecticon, but the Legacy release was good enough to be well worth the extra purchase

This #TransformersTuesday happens to fall on election day here in the US, so it seems fitting that we have come to the most pragmatic of the Decepticons: Shockwave. While the Siege version represents the character in my main collection, I don’t think there’s ever been a bad figure of him.

We come to the last of the Constructicons this #TransformersTuesday with Bonecrusher! I inadvertently received a SS86 Bonecrusher recently, and seeing it in-hand I can appreciate the newer sculpt (at least in robot mode)…but CW/UW still wins thanks to its size

This is the page I got when I followed the link Hasbro put in their own email promoting the HasLab Tron set. Even they can’t bring themselves to support it.

We come to the penultimate Constructicon this #TransformersTuesday with Scavenger! Much as I like all the figures in UW Devastator, Scavenger may be my favorite simply because of how tidy he is in both modes.

This #TransformersTuesday brings us to the most controversial of the CW/UW Constructicons: Mixmaster. Hasbro/Takara redesigned him to be a modern front discharge transit mixer, something that not only eschewed his G1 design but was an unfamiliar truck design for many fans.

Hook! Hook! Give us the Hook! Probably the least controversial of the CW/UW figures for this #TransformersTuesday, his only real drawback is the lack of an extending crane arm. Gotta be careful which elbows to use on this version, too!

Running a little late this #TransformersTuesday, but the entry should be no surprise to anyone who was here last week: Scrapper! As with Long Haul, the UW figure has the right bulk for a CHUG construction vehicle but better paint, articulation, and accessories.

Moving on to the first of the 1985 Deceptions this #TransformersTuesday with the much-maligned Long Haul. He’s definitely got some…interesting…proportions, but I still think the Unite Warriors Constructicons are the best: bigger, better paint, decent articulation, and more accessories

This #TransformersTuesday, the final 1985 Autobot is represented by the oldest figure that I have as part of my CHUG collection: Jetfire. He’s gotten a little yellow over the years, but that classic VF-1 design has never been beat. I do have the armor, but it doesn’t quite fit on the shelf he’s on.

We come to the last of the 1985 Autobot cars this #TransformersTuesday with Red Alert. Much as I still like the Universe/Generations mold, Siege’s deco won me over. This one’s been customized with a Toyhax blaster and dyed/painted Siege Sideswipe arms (original parts were used on a different custom)

That's more or less what happened in Gobots, minus a few extraneous biological parts:

Much like Inferno from a recent #TransformersTuesday, my CHUG Grapple is represented by the Masterpiece figure. It’s actually impressive how different the transformations are, but let’s just say I’m happy I don’t have to go through the process for either one of them that often.

Addendum to my previous post about HLJ:

This #TransformersTuesday brings us to Smokescreen! I lucked out in that my copy didn’t have the QC issues reported by many, though I did still have to repaint his accessories and give him some Toyhax stickers to look right.

Energon Tow-Line was one of the better nostalgia-bait figures from the Unicron Trilogy, missing the mark only with his name. The head sculpt, the paint job, even the “boring” alt mode…from his 2004 release to today’s #TransformersTuesday, in my collection he’s always been Skids

#TransformersTuesday story: Tracks was among the last of the original G1 cars I got, but once I did I was sold. I picked up every transforming Corvette I could find - TF, Gobot, Convertor, 3P, KO, even Matchbox’s Parasites toy. So it’s kind of funny that his CHUG fig isn’t one of them.
August 12, 2025 at 10:31 AM
Even MP figures are part of my CHUG collection, as evidenced by Inferno this #TransformersTuesday. This one has had a few extra paint apps and custom shin parts to improve his appearance.

On to the first of the Autobot Cars this #TransformersTuesday with Hoist! Like his G1 mold mate Trailbreaker, I think the movie design really captured the half powerful/half awkward vibe of the original toy
