Weird comes from the Proto-Indo-European root "wert" which means to "turn/bend". The PIE root of climate is "klei-" "to lean" (a zone's inclination toward the sun). In the Anthropocene, this postural stance no longer holds. Climate is bent by our actions. Ergo, weird fiction = cli-fi *runs away*
