All the stories in Weird Horror #11 are great, but I've been thinking about “We Didn’t Used to Be Like This” by @jackklausner.bsky.social for days. Deeply unsettling look into one person's descent into madness that had me questioning what was true by the end. A phenomenal story.

This is very sad news, but I am glad to see that The Deadlands will continue.

Read this and then: support the zines and publishers you love. It is tough, rough times for small publishers and zines. Do what you can to help them continue their good work.

I was lucky enough to read an early copy of this lush collection of poems that mixes ancient creatures + sprawling landscapes with everyday modern life, queer love, and generational trauma.

I never thought I’d be so moved by a poem about a toad looking up its own evolution history on wikipedia.
Time Travel Is Easy is officially out in the world! Dinosaurs and Deep Time are thematic links to queer embodiment, childhood trauma, and life in the late Anthropocene. Cover art by the amazing Helen Whistberry. (Non-Amazon options coming very soon!) www.amazon.com/dp/B0G344X8L7

For anyone who's felt the joy of writing diminished by trying to get published. This was so uplifting to read.
