A moving look at Palestinian identity and the role of art as political protest, I might go so far as to say Enter Ghost by Isabella Hammad is a favorite book of the decade so far. Review here: www.goodreads.com/review/show/...
s.penkevich's review of Enter Ghost
5/5: ‘To be or not to be,’ is one of the most commonly quoted lines of Shakespeare. A well loved soliloquy from Hamlet contemplating life or death, action or inaction, but ‘ay, there’s the rub,’ as it...

I’m in my romance era now and KJ Charles’s Slippery Creatures is an absolute delight! An incredible period piece that is as snarky as it is sexy, this one is impossible to put down. www.goodreads.com/review/show/...

Ali Smith’s prose in Winter drifts down through puns and politics as the novel becomes a kaleidoscopic expression of the essence of winter. Miraculously good and an insightful look at both the personal and political, Winter is a perfect winter read. Book review 👇

The people attacking libraries cannot imagine that children deserve autonomy. When we say that children should be able to read without coercion or fear, all they hear is “Other nefarious forces are grooming these children.” The movement is deeply anti-child. 📚
Above all else, this movement is about asserting complete domination and control over children.

Was it really summer if you didn’t pose with the giant Oz book downtown and think “why?”

September

Their summer romance
over. the lovers
still cling
to each other
the way the green
leaves cling
to their trees
in the strange heat
of September, as if
this time
there will be
no autumn.
