While we bungled Trump's challenge to democracy I think it's crucial to understand that it doesn't end with his person. The base of the Republican party will demand Trumpism after he's gone too--there won't be pro-democracy Republican politicians. How do we plan to handle that

Your job as a citizen isn't to invent excuses for your representatives' inaction. I promise you it'll never be enough. We don't 'control Congress. We control Congress but not the presidency. We control both but we don't have 60 votes in the senate. Too bad, figure it out or make way for someone else
