here is almost every single argumentative fallacy in this video
* opens with being aggressive to detractors calling them “fucking stupid” and spends entire video insulting them (ad hominem) * says all critics are “going out of their way to misrepresent the show/viv” (hasty generalization) * calls arguments claiming the show fetishizes sexual assault “vapid and deranged” (red herring) * says rosie owning alastor “cant be racist because everyone in hell is evil” (circular argument) * excuses rosie owning alastor because “alastor is evil” and “alastor owns husk” (red herring) * says critics’ evidence is bad because “even politicians couldn’t stretch this far” (moral equivalence) * calls alastor a “slave owner in his own right” (circular argument) * begs audience to explain how vox could be white because he’s a shark tv (red herring) * vaguely mentions voodoo symbolism and says “case could be made that that’s offensive” then says “i dont know about it so ill leave smarter people to discuss it” (aka typically peoples larger issue with the show’s racism) * “once alastor is in hell he no longer appears as a person of color/no longer practices any religion” aka therefore racism is not practically applied to him (circular argument) * “alastor knew what he was getting into” therefore he set himself up for being owned/a slave (post hoc ergo propter hoc) * “We dont know what [race] rosie is” (red herring) * “you cant have limited information and make a sweeping conclusion about something” directly after using limited information to make a sweeping conclusion about rosie * claims calling a (possibly) nonwhite/nonhuman character racist for drawing equivalences between rosie owning alastor and real life slavery is the real problem (moral equivalence) * says critics “materialized an issue out of thin air for the sake of pursuing personal vindication” (hasty generalization + ad hominem) * says “art cant make you uncomfortable, it must coddle you for the soft little thing you are” as a mocking statement/doesn’t address the issues presented (straw man) * okay i cant do this the rest of the video is just going around and around in circles
