Sobering subject w/ a dash of black comedy. Victor's directorial debut is a stunner. All I could think of was brunette Peggy Bundy when Cher was on screen. Wonder Boys was solid, great cast. An alien injects people with heroin to rob their high. That's just rude.

After taking last year off, today is mole poblano day. Around 25 ingredients, this will be an all day process but will hopefully come out to a lovely sauce that goes great with the leftover turkey. The second pic is my current progress. 🍜 🍽️

Pictured are ingredients for mole poblano on a granite countertop. They include dried guajillo, ancho and pasilla chiles. Two tomatillos, one tomato, one onion, ten garlic cloves, peanuts, sesame seeds, chile seeds, cloves, aniseed, black peppercorns, cinnamon stick, dried thyme, dried marjoram, bay leaves, raw almonds, pepitas, raisins, Abuelita chocolate, two pieces of bread and two tortillas. Updated picture of the mole poblano in progress. The chiles have all been fried in vegetable oil and are now soaking in a bowl of boiling water. There is a bowl on the lower right that has sesame/chile seeds that have been ground into a fine powder. The almonds, pepita seeds and raisins have been fried, they sit on top of the powder mixture.

Good world building but it stretches for too long. I love Rickman's role so much. It's a dream limbo world when Leo grows old with a woman his age. Family life is complicated, amazingly portrayed here, great cinema. Adolescence was eye opening. Talk to your kids.

Sand and Fog is my kind of depression cinema & you know it's not going to end well for most of it's cast. Aghdashloo was outstanding. United States of Amnesia never learns the lessons of the past. Banger cast but the Gift doesn't give. Hawke is gonna miss that ✈️.

State of Grace has a monster cast w/ a standout, unhinged turn by Oldman. A teenage bug whisperer hunting a serial killer w/ help from her elderly friend and his chimpanzee butler. The Sting is so goddamn cool. "How the hell you gon get fired, on your day off?!"

Jazz playing means it's gonna be decent noir, China Moon was indeed decent. Enjoyed the ending of Black Christmas quite a bit. Of course Rapaport would have an AI girlfriend in a movie made 25 years ago. Violent and gory with zero story, Terrier disappointed.

I guess the end of movie recaps are part of the Saw franchise and not a one off thing? Chucky 3 gets really repetitive, needs a creature jolt. 🎶Happy happy Halloween, Silver Shamrock 🎶 ANOES 3 is one of the best three-quels ever with great dream sequences. 🎃 🎥 📽️

The makeup and practical effects of Demons scared the crap out of me w/ banging 80s music. Annie Wilkes and a sledgehammer are not to be trifled with. The end of Others fucking sent me, brilliantly moody horror. Michael Myers going on a rampage in a hospital 👏🏽

The film that launched Wan into modern master of horror space, Saw ushered in a new era. That hospital scene is truly nightmarish. The movie that has me thinking every noise in the house is an evil spirit. Scream 4 brought the franchise back from the brink. 🪚🪜👻🔪

The original Chucky is a pretty decent slasher movie with a very good voice performance by Dourif. House of Wax is an underrated gem with a terrific final battle. Ghost Ship blew its load in the opening scene, snoozer the rest of the way. Popped my Dario cherry.

Feldman went hardcore as fuck and *that's* Crispin Glover? Possession definitely met the expectations. Adjani was spectacular. That subway scene blew me away. I would've gone to the party on Haunted Hill. I can see why people disliked Don't Look Up, I like it tho.

Cruise puts up arguably his best performance. The Cubs winning the 2016 WS was the Cloverfield Paradox of our time, all gone to shit since. Steven Seagal getting yeeted is one of the funniest fucking things ever. Still can't get over the all powerful fedoras lol.

Lol the silly ass bread thing in Devil. First 15 minutes of the Mechanic is chefs kiss, predictable after. A police force that does right by their citizens? Nolan's dreaming. Aftersun left a lump in my throat and thinking of the past. Absolutely devastating.

Watching Election with Obama would be a lovely movie night. I've heard of prime numbers, explaining what they are? I'd be dead so fast. The Village is misunderstood. I really enjoyed its cast & story of loss/love. Earbuds and don't talk to strangers on planes.

I have an illogical apprehension of mirrors. One of those things. This movie didn't help that. A good ending for the main Conjuring story. Lmao Sam Jackson 🦈. DCFS is going to pay Batman a visit, for real. The Marty-Doc friendship is one of the best in cinema.

Never stared at my eyes as intently as I did after watching I Origins. Thoughtful movie. The final scene in Seeking a Friend is not something I'll soon forget. Can't have a villain kicking ass then taken out by ONE punch! Jeepers started out well & lost me midway.

Different tone/style from the original Robo but it's not a bad thing. Strathairn's terrific turn as Murrow highlights how desperately a journalist of that stature is needed today. The cricket in NotLD is the real ghoul. Sphere was a goddamn chore to get through.

Eat up the nostalgia with a spoon. Turtles is cheesy and goofy as hell. Wolf Man has better atmosphere and costume than some modern films. Laura Palmer's journey is painful, traumatic, horrific. A difficult experience. Weapons went too long w/ an amazing 3rd arc.

Plotting out "the Purge" was an unexpected moment in Rope. One shot cinema 😘. Insert the lyrics of the Canadian national anthem here. Kingsley was wasted in this movie, an absolute shame. Nothing like devastating depression on a Saturday night watching 1984.
