After a simple transformation (the way the legs transformed kinda surprised me) we have an endearing dino mode which can do more than the bot mode. Something about that face just makes me smile. And hitting the switch makes him shoot spring-loaded fire which is also endearing

The other one I got in the package was an Ultra Class Grimlock from Cyberverse. I’ve never seen Cyberverse but I’ve heard the Grimlock in that show’s different from a lot of the other ones. Anyway this guy’s kind of a brick, but he’s a big brick in bot mode, and it feels very solid.

Transformation is unfortunately uncomfortably panel-y and shit will pop out when it feels like it but the truck is a joy. It rolls! Really well! And the truck’s nice and bigly, which is part of what turned me off of the Legacy version (other than I don’t like the Elita mold enough to double dip)

and her vehicle mode’s a big truck, which is rare for Transfemmes. And this warrior class offering is pretty solid in bot mode. Sure the build quality’s rough and both her shoulders’ up and down movement are on the same joint for some reason, but it’s got character.

Another day, another mail call. First up, RID 15 Strongarm. While I didn’t like the show, I did like the designs and thought its artstyle looked dynamic and would lend itself well to toys. I don’t really feel one way or the other about Strongarm’s character but I liked her bulkier proportions (cont)
