Car culture, nuclear families, and social media have all atomized Americans until we essentially are our own islands- and to imply via shitty writing that these problems are only faced by men makes the "male loneliness epidemic" worse, as young men read those articles and reinforce their beliefs.

And this is why it's so ridiculous and ultimately harmfl to call it a "male" lonliness epidemic- it's not just men. American culture has been slowly isolating its citizens from each other in bubbles of crime paranoia, political extremism, and general anxiety.
