SCOTUS gutted all the enforcement acts which allowed klan like behavior and worse to continue, enabling the worst excesses of Jim Crow the next eight decades. Back to Bouie’s point—a Democratic Congress next year should have the courage to do something similar, AND expand and term limit SCOTUS
