As Wath tired, second-half goals from Whitfield, Fisher and Roseboom saw The Spireites through. The performance of the day was that by Horace Wass, who completely overshadowed Shaw, who had scored six goals for Wath in the previous round. 2/3 #CFC100

He was also Sec/Mgr at Leeds City and Bradford Park Avenue on their accession to the Football League, becoming (I think) the only man to manage three different clubs in their first Football League seasons. Left the game in 1911 to run a pub in Matlock. Died Sheffield in 1957. 2/2

after left-back Jack Whitworth was called up to the first team. Herbert Tyler, pictured, was absent – his return to the club lasted only one match before he suffered a compound double-fracture of the leg when a sheet of steel fell on him at work at Campion’s Engineering, in Manchester. 3/3 #CFC100
