I feel you! Some people don't realize that comics lack the component of spoken speech. So speech has to be depicted as word balloons and excessive word balloons per panel clutter things up.

You're most welcome 😃 Your writing is gorgeous and with such depth! It's interesting you say that because even in stories like "Can And Will Be Held Against You" (where's they're both cis), there's an examination of masculinity (and Wesker's obsession with Chris' masculinity in its various forms.)

Some readers expect indie work by marginalized creators to be simple. The same readers allow corporations and big names total freedom to experiment. That kind of bias might not always be conscious, but it’s deeply ingrained.

Oh, I agree. I read a really good post by a horror writer talking about how horror writers are given a degree of grace. Most people realize that elements in horror are not to be emulated and exist in a certain context. However, NSFW writers and artists don't get that same grace for some reason.

Much NSFW art is created by women, marginalized groups and queer folks, many from developing and poor countries. When sites censor or deprive NSFW artists of a platform, they rob many marginalized people of a way to express themselves and to earn a living. While NSFW content needs to be marked as such, there is a place for it.
