I agree it's borderline. If it had been disallowed on the ice, I don't think it would be overturned.

I'm also convinced it hit a stick on the way to Hellebuyck who I think touched it twice. Depends where you draw the line between deflected in and not.

You're allowed to kick the puck - so even if he did, it didn't deflect in. Hellebuyck put it in his own net (it wasn't even nearly on target). Same if the puck is subsequently hit someone else's stick (i.e not deflected).

I get you can't kick it into the net, but he kicks/directs it way off target.

If you kick it into the offensive zone then there's a freak own goal, is that really different?
