My confidence in submitting short stories to journals and magazines is at an all-time low. Not sure if I should put any more effort towards them…

Just received a short story rejection that simply said: “We regret that we are unable to publish it”

Mysterious. Ominous. What is it that made them so unable?? I need answers!

When I was younger, once I got through a few chapters of a book, I would read the last page. I think my anxiety wouldn’t let me enjoy the story unless I knew if they lived/completed the goal/got what they wanted. Today I absolutely hate spoilers and want to enjoy the work in its own time.

Time to repost this from Say Anything:
“I don't want to sell anything, buy anything, or process anything as a career. I don't want to sell anything bought or processed, or buy anything sold or processed, or process anything sold, bought, or processed, or repair anything sold, bought, or processed.”

The more I think about it, the more I realize that religious conservatives are more like me than I realized… We both like to be dominated by older white straight-acting men.

My plan for retirement location needs the following criteria:
1. Warm
2. Walkable
3. Woke
So it is with great pleasure I am announcing I’ll be retiring in hell. It seems a LOT more fun anyway.

I don’t know how best to describe this, but what I’m craving is the McChicken and McDouble from 30 years ago.

Asked Alexa to play a Muppet Christmas Carol mix. Fourth song played was a parody: “Walking in Women’s Underwear” Can’t tell if I should be amused.

Creativity is so cool:
- You can hate yourself for not starting.
- Once you start, you can hate what you are working on.
- You can hate that other people create better than you.
- Once finished, you can hate what you created.
- When other people like your creation, you can hate that they like it.

Don’t post something in the work chat right after I posted something. It detracts from my hearts and likes.
