fed their kids, got their medicine, whatever they needed a hand with. she'd pay for it and more, and they didn't have to stress about it. i can't imagine a better way to spend a life.

at mass i'd often hear her pray "Lord, fill my cup so I may empty it," and that's exactly what happened. over, and over again. she could've been a multi-millionaire, but died with a big house and enough money to cover funeral costs. in return, thousands of people kept their lights on, their heat,

she inspires me to get to her level. i want to be able to pay other peoples' late bills. i want to be the cat to pick up the check and drop a tip big enough to make the waitress cry. i want to be able to take a hard time off someone's shoulders. that's all she ever did with her money.
