I recently played it through and enjoyed it, not enough to go back again for the updates, but it's a fun enough time and has some cool ideas and moments.

I know, I actually already had one but couldn't resist the 30th anniversary version, and it's just become an even more solid investment.

I wholeheartedly agree with this. Burned out on rehashes of the same ideas with a different skin, it's like all I needed was a good action RPG to cleanse my palette.
