Instead of working on the draft for my client, I got distracted this morning by #tatting! I designed my first pattern. It's a little wonky, but designing (and then creating) a pattern taught me a lot. Now it's time to have lunch, and THEN work on calligraphy (or make a mate for this earring...🤔).

Here's a peek at my process for my first #WIPWednesday! I'm working on a family tree project for a client, and I needed to write out all the names to get final dimensions. The next step is centering the #lettering, and then I'll do a draft with the pointed pen (instead of just a monoline pencil).

I had a busy day and didn't have time to create something new -- so here's a #softpastel #landscape #painting that I did awhile back.

Some #italic #calligraphy practice this afternoon, with a small side helping of artificial #uncials. Once again I've chosen words written by Le Guin.

My italics are a bit rusty at the moment, but for an unplanned piece, I'm pretty pleased.

A journey begins! I'm glad to be here. To start things off, here's a #calligraphy piece with a small painting done in #gouache. You can expect more calligraphy, painting, tatting, engraving, and probably other shenanigans in the future.
