In these spaces, and I want these spaces to continue to exist. Fanfic authors, fan artists, so many of us are so passionate, and I want to protect the passion. I also recognize that this isn't entirely black and white, but I hope to be consistent. Those are my final thoughts ♡

I can assure you I am making no money off of my twitch. I stream raids for vods for my raid group. It is also the easiest way for people outside of my static to watch our prog (other friends). But ty for checking out my profile

I do enjoy the wimsy and magic of fandom through gifts and trades. I have plenty of fanart that was gifted to me on display. I also will buy zines where profit funds go to charity. Monetizing fandom is a slippery slope and that is the stance I hold.

I completely understand and am perfectly happy to agree to disagree! Everyone engages in this space different, and I can't help but express concern for putting Fandom behind paywalls, no matter the medium, but that is my own opinion and perspective. Happy this all has a respectful conclusion :)

Final thought: Different mediums do have different ways of legally working around things when it comes to Fandom. It's not fun but it's true. For us as writers, you have to scrape off serial numbers the same way artists sell "blue turtle" stickers instead of squirtle stickers.

And generally, whether you are an artist or a writer, a Fandom patreon just feels odd to me. But maybe I am just another case of "old Fandom person screams at clouds."

This was all brought to my attention by people in Fandom who were concerned by this growing trend of people profiting off of fandom works. Original works? Go off, get bread, make money, but I have to fundamentally disagree with selling fanfic access.
