Progress pictures and final of the 채반! 45cm in diameter, 2.5mm rattan
Latest project is a 채반 (chaeban), a wide flat woven tray used in Korea for cooking. Since it circulates air well, the 채반 is used for everything from drying chilies to holding pan fried 전 (jeon) after cooking it. 2mm rattan reed!

Latest basket is rectangular ⏹️ A little tricky compared to round or oval baskets but not too hard!

Learning how to make a basket with 90° corners! Round is the easiest, oval is a little more complicated, and rectangular baskets are different altogether. The big weight helps hold the rattan in place while weaving.

New basket with a triple braid rim! First time trying an oval basket bottom. Going to try proofing sourdough in here 🧡

Finished the basket rim with a double coil, it's very sturdy and makes a smooth top for the lid

The basket is coming along nicely! The bottom and the side both feature the "feather" V-shaped pattern.
