Hilariously my brain keeps defaulting to saxophone fingerings when trying to play the violin and I just realized the core of what is throwing me off
On string instruments more fingers down = higher note, where on wind instruments I’ve played more fingers down = lower note

I’ve just started learning the violin but I’ve hit a bit of a roadblock… y’know that thing with the violin where you pull the bow across the string? And then also the part where you press down on the strings to make different notes, that part too
