Another great game of Star Trek Ascendancy last night. My Federation kicked off to an early lead and then got stomped so hard. Eventually the Klingons won because they held onto more systems than I did (plus, the Dominion refused to break a treaty they had). Such a fun game!

Been working on this tricky tile laying game about building an arcade circa late 80s/early 90s. The market has unique abilities when you take a tile but those abilities change as each round goes by

Been playing Star Trek Ascendancy a bit lately. Fantastic game that despite the size it takes coz is still a knife fight. Can't wait to track down a few more expansions if I can find them or wait for the reprint next year

You'd think a 3 year old did this, but nope, that's all me! Mental health break at work today with fun dollar store paints and canvases.

I haven't smiled this much in a long time!!

This has to be the worst component guide I've seen in a rulebook ever. It looks like an old Toys r Us catalogue!!

However, the gameplay looks great and I can't wait to try this out soon!

It might not be much, but we finally got our first snowfall of the year here in #Kelowna. I don't remember such a late start to winter.

Here's my November plays. Looking forward to what December brings!

Wow. I picked this up from my FLGS on Friday and played a few games using this expansion. Honestly, I only bought it for the 5th player but this new game mode is amazing! Congrats @restorationgames.bsky.social on another knockout!!

(now to try to track down some of the other expansions one day)

You know what? Tokyo Highway is pretty darn fun!! We messed up a few rules but I had a blast regardless. Amazingly, this is the only dexterity based game I own!

Started designing & playtesting again after toonmuch time away

Tentatively called Let's All Go To The Arcade, which is a tile laying game about building a video arcade in the early 90s

First test went well & now it's time to revamp a few things. I'm energized again and working on making a trilogy.

I downloaded the Dominion app on my phone and had totally forgotten how great this game is

Went out and bought a couple sets and played last night. We had a total blast! The OG is still phenomenal folks!

🎶 While My Dark Tower Gently Sleeps 🎶

Getting ready to venture into the unknown this week. Looking forward to the adventure ahead of us!!

Today was a good shopping day. I sold about half my Cthulhu Wars collection so was able to pick up a few things to refill the shelves

Got a good deal on Return to Dark Tower so I decided to take the plunge.

First solo run through of Let's Go To The Mall complete and it went smoothly.

It's an 80s inspired tableau builder with some tongue in cheek names for stores.

Have to make the customers more important & increase Food Court scoring for next time.

But it worked!

With Halloween around the corner, we played a thematic scenario for CMON's Clash for Eternia that someone made.

The Evil Horde was trying to find the Pumpkin of Calamity & drain its power for their evil plan.

Unfortunately, He-Man, Orko & Mekanek were unable to stop them so now Eternia is doomed!

First pumpkin beer of the year - this one from the incredible Phillips Brewery from Victoria, BC. The smell is wonderful and first sips are very flavourful.

Also, I totally LOVE the "Boos Inside" label on the side of the can!!

Who wants to join my Orchestra?

Been working on a new trick taking game bases on playing in a symphony and it's been getting a lot better every play. Currently in version 4 of the rules and I'm hoping I didn't break it in the process. We'll see next week week, I suppose.

Won solo play of Wild Tiled West this morning with a winning score of 119. This is such a lovely game with a nice puzzle to it. Really looking forward to more plays soon.

September plays!

Recently acquired Outer Rim and the expansion and its been a hit getting multiple plays. We had a few nights with lots of players and I totally forgot to record some of our larger games that we played.

Picked up Wild Tiled West from @direwolfdigital.bsky.social and Paul Dennan. Looks really cool & I'm a sucker for polyominal games.

They totally missed the mark with The Mayor though. It really should have been a Mare instead of a Turtle

Nelson, BC is a beautiful little place nestled in the West Kootenays. I've never been there before but really enjoyed our visit there. Lots of little unique shops including a great Cafe/Used Bookstore/Record Shop where I could have spent a fortune.

Played Mosiac at our last game night. This was partway through the setup. It's a beast!!

Overall, it was a lot of fun but I think I'd rather play it next with four players instead of the full six.

First solo play of Endless Winter today to learn the gameplay a bit. Lots going on in this one and there seems to be plenty of strategies to discover.

Looking forward to playing this later in the week against real opponents.

Recent acquisitions

Got Agricola gently used for $30 which was a steal. I've never played Sheriff of Nottingham, but Robin Hood is my fave Disney movie. Was able to grab SCOUT at my local store after waiting nearly a year for it. Endless Winter looks right up my alley!
